ABERDEEN, Wash. January 25, 2025—Little Peaces is excited to announce the digital release of all five of "The VERY Important Question Series" children's picture books.

The author of the series, Jhiela Poynter, is a new voice in children’s books. Poynter strives to create books that inspire engagement and foster essential life skills for children, including inclusivity and critical thinking. She recognizes the importance of engaging with children during story time and has drawn inspiration for several ideas in her books from conversations with her own children.

“The questions were coming up at bedtime. They didn’t like to go to bed, and then they’d start solving all of life’s big mysteries. I decided to embrace the curiosity, and it resulted in a sense of wonder that was almost like a form of meditation,” said Poynter, “My hope is that it can benefit other families in the same way."

Each book is an ode to youthful imaginations as young children ponder endlessly creative possibilities for questions that fascinate them, like "Why is the ocean blue?" and "Where does the wind go?"

Maria Ashford, reviewing for Book-Shelfie, noted, "Each theory is presented with equal weight and validity, teaching young readers that there’s value in different perspectives and ways of thinking."

Ashford's rave review of Poynter's bedtime stories included praise for her verse, pointing out the seamless flow, and the series's unique structure.

"One of the most compelling aspects of the series is its open-ended nature. Rather than concluding with definitive answers, each book ends with an invitation to wonder further. This approach encourages children to maintain their natural curiosity about the world around them." —Maria Ashford for Book-Shelfie

The series illustrator, Bhagya Rathnaweera, has also received ample praise, with her artwork bringing each idea to in harmony with Poynter's work. Readers' Favorite, a popular book-review site, has awarded the series five stars.

“Each page is a visual treat, filled with vibrant colors and playful designs that capture the essence of a child’s wonder … The book is also an excellent choice for classroom story time, as students can share their ideas of what they think the moon is made of.” —Carol Thompson for Readers' Favorite

The VERY Important Question Series is becoming a fast favorite, with all five books ranking in the Top Five Amazon Nursery Rhymes New Releases and four claiming positions in the Top 20 Nursery Rhyme Best Sellers within their first week of digital release on Amazon. (#Ad)
